wireless repeater help pleaaaaaase....

After configuring tp link's tl wa500g to work as a repeater,I got good signal only with no connection...

The SSID r the same on both router and repeater, no password , same channel ...
repeater is using static Ip while router is using dynamic one ,,
The router type is link sys wag200g ..
Any help would be appreciated

If the product does not work when setup per the manual, return it for something else.
